Check out today’s newspapers

Hey,

so today’s word is “newspaper” …..I love front pages of newspapers…..just for no reason…I buy a newspaper…read the first page and then throw it away…of course after getting the cartoon section from it :) …the front page is all about the inside…summarizing whats going on inside the newspaper, today…my hands landed on a great discovery of my own :) …I feel like christopher columbus discovering America and saying “Hey, we are in India people :) ” ….today’s discovery is the website that has all the front pages of most of the worlds newspapers and the website looks mainly like this

Cool….and check this out too…I found some interesting front pages of the day :

and this one : and the winner of the “least amounts of words on a front page goes to”……`drum rolls`…….

The Beijing News

I think the main headline is “Look at him running 3 miles”….or “He is running 3 miles”…

That’s our daily “News” round-up for the day….oh and by the way…the website link is :

When Sports and Politics collide..

Football…or “Soccer”..as its said in the USA.. is one of the most popular sports in the world..and for those who don’t know soccer

football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players, and is the most popular sport in the world. It is a ball game played on a rectangular grass or artificial turf field, with a goal at each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by maneuvering the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeeper is the only player allowed to use their hands or arms to propel the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition.

so now you understand what it is…that takes us to our discussion for today…in Africa…since the last few weeks and the upcoming week..”The Africa cup of nations”in soccer is being played by 16 teams all from Africa of course :) …and those teams are :

  • Flag of Ghana Ghana
  • Flag of Côte d'Ivoire Côte d’Ivoire
  • Flag of Egypt Egypt
  • Flag of Nigeria Nigeria
  • Flag of Sudan Sudan
  • Flag of Cameroon Cameroon
  • Flag of Angola Angola
  • Flag of Senegal Senegal
  • Flag of Guinea Guinea
  • Flag of Mali Mali
  • Flag of Namibia Namibia
  • Flag of Zambia Zambia
  • Flag of Morocco Morocco
  • Flag of Tunisia Tunisia
  • Flag of Benin Benin
  • Flag of South Africa South Africa

so..last Friday..Egypt and Sudan were playing against each other in the Kumasi Stadium in Ghana..after scoring the third goal for Egypt..”Abou Treika”..one of the most famous players in Egypt stripped to reveal a tee-shirt with the slogan ‘Sympathize with Gaza’ as he celebrated scoring in the 3-0 win over Sudan..

and some people said…”Okay…so what..the guy is just trying to make a point”…while others were like “AArrrghhh….”..and I do think that its alright to express your “right” political perspectives at anytime..anyplace..and by any means..when a player shows his sympathy to a current cause…that is not supposed to be faced by people throwing bad words and comments on him…it should be faced by respect for his opinion…still…when it comes to a cause you stand for….you will do exactly what he did…maybe more…share your comments…thanks :)

The Davos Question..what do you think?

Every year, global leaders attend the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to discuss how to better the world.

The Davos question : “What one thing do you think that countries, companies or individuals must do to make the world a better place in 2008?”

I am one of the people that saw the Davos question channel on youtube and just had this thought in my mind…as a teenager at the age of 17 I look forward to have better education..better life..and a world that’s safe for me in the future and maybe for my kids too..so I was really anxious to know what some of the most influential people in our time have in mind about how to make the world a better place in 2008..some of the answers were believable and realistic such as Bono’s answer..by the way..Bono is “a Rock star…Sorta”..in the famous rock band U2….I just love his phrase “Don’t change your light bulbs..change your leaders”….and some of them were really corny..let’s face the fact…most of them were corny..but its okay..because finally I got the answer for the Davos question from my perspective..my answer is that to make the world a better place in 2008..I’ve to care about people and help them as far as I can help..and to work harder to actually affect on my society and look forward for a better one…because after all…all the societies have flaws in them that needs to be fixed..and we as teenagers..are the key to the future..we just need the right door to unlock it :) …to check out the Davos question channel on youtube..please follow the link below..and by the way…what’s your answer to the Davos question?..

Quotes : Al Gore Said, and I Said :):

“The planet is in distress and all of the attention is on Paris Hilton. We have to ask ourselves what is going on here?”, I just saw that quote on the times website, and I was thinking, that guy do have a point of view, we need to set our priorities straight, since when Celebrities were more important than the planet,we do love gossip, and we do love hearing the news about the famous people, but still I love that quote because it contain sarcasm which I love, Al Gore used to be a politician in the old days, but now, I like that guy, and ever since he won the Nobel prize of Peace “for those that don’t know it, its a really cool prize which is really rare, and is not given away for the best performance, or the best laugh, or kiss scene :) “, he started to be more open about a lot of stuff, that we need to focus on, environment and the safety of man kind, we fix that, and then we can go back to Paris, Lindsay, and Britney :) .
